Concept Selection:
From high-level cost screenings for prospect evaluation to detailed topsides and substructure weight and cost calculations for selecting the optimum field development concept, we leverage Oil and Gas Manager to help clients make objective decisions at various stages of a project with due consideration to technical requirements, cost and schedule estimates, risk assessments and environmental constraints.
The cornerstone of our process, the Oil and Gas Manager (OGM) software allows us to systematically assess the feasibility and viability of a range of development concepts including:
- Subsea developments
- TLPs and mini-TLPs
- Semisubs
- FPSOs and FPDSOs
- Spars
- Deep and shallow water subsea pipelines
- Compliant towers
- Conventional and minimal jacket concepts
- Onshore field developments
Conceptual Design:
Berwanger leverages the
Oil and Gas Manager (OGM) software to rapidly initiate conceptual design studies after completion of the concept selection phase. We use OGM to generate a detailed process simulation, along with equipment lists, weight and (in the case of offshore fields) deck area requirements, and complete utility balances. Berwanger uses these results to launch concept optimization studies in order to determine the best configuration of the process and utility systems with minimal lag time.
We use industry standard simulation tools and our proprietary workflow automation methods to model facilities and generate the conceptual design deliverables, which typically include:
- Basis of Design documents
- Process flow diagrams/heat and material balances
- Field and individual facility layout/plot plan drawings
- Utility balances
- Weight and cost estimates for facilities and pipelines
We work with your project team to make sure these deliverables support your stage-gate requirements and are fully integrated into the FEED scope of work.
